i'm in writing mode

i just came up with the defining line of this short story i've been writing and stuck on for awhile called Heartbreak Great Dane. Dennis says this to Ronnie outside the library, while Baby goes in right away because her books are really late, and she fucking loves to read.

"There’s a hound dog in my chest Ronnie. A great dane...It must be happy to see you because I can feel it’s wagging tail pound against my sternum. It howls when you're away."

sure, it's corny, but he's thirteen and she's fourteen and it's set in the 50's and i'm going for a melodramatic vibe.

i'm supposed to revise this story, plus the more recent story i submitted to the latest manuscript, and then bring the 5 exercises. i can't wait to utilize this week to really edit and expand more/ show the final product to my prof.

when heartbreak is done though i might think about submitting it to literary magazines/contests. it's got potential, and i really want to make it reach that.

and finally, i completely forgot about this blog, and don't really know what to do with it. but i guess for now maybe i'll use it to leave notes for myself about whatever i'm writing and where to take the story(ies) in case i forget.
